If I'm free when you do it I'll come help if you want.

Unfortunately it's a lower arm for the nearside - shame that ::)

Might take you up on that offer mate, everyone I have spoken to today has told me what a ball-ache it is to do ball-joints!! ;D ;D

I'll see how I get on tomorrow - got plenty of plus-gas on the joint at the moment, hopefully it'll work its way in overnight :)

I'm working tomorrow until about 1330, I'll call you and can come over right after that if you like.
Had my Bus "tuned" today after rebuilding the carbs, got a little hiccup still but generally going ok, gonna put a few more miles on it and see how it does. May need the idle jets taking up a little.

This one ;)

the torsion leaves were going to be a nightmare to re-install even a cable-tie could not get the bottom leaves to anywhere near the right profile, so we decided to clamp them in position and run a thin line of weld across to hold them together and chamfer the edges for easy installation ;D

Just got back from Penzance and the MOT is done for another year, Cheers Dave :)

Thanks also to Matt for his welding skills ;)

I had planned to use Shaun @ 50-67 for pressing in the balljoints as he has all the equipment and kindly gave me some good advice - but I had to find somewhere local in the end as I was not able to get over to Chacewater with the arms last week. Thanks anyway Shaun 8-)

Dave is still doing MOT test's for Flubber members.
Last week they were £35.
He's doing the MOT tests at PT Autos in Newlyn but isn't working there, he only uses their facilities after hours or late in the day so book ahead, be flexible and he'll fit you in when he can.
He's currently setting up a new buisness with his own premises in Praze but won't be ready for a couple more months.
Contact him on 07545255569. If no answer send him a text telling him you're a Flubber and need an MOT test and he'll probably text you back with a time.

Cel, he said he is in Redruth regularly and would be happy to arrange some sort of pre MOT test check up for you.

Just got my '71 bay through an MOT with Dave. Front beam was rusted to bits but I got a narrowed one and he fiitted it and did a pile of welding on the outiggers and cross members etc for a very reasonable price.

Wouldn't take my bus anywhere else now.

well, heres the time we've all been waiting for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i've taken over tolroy garage in hayle. were open imediately for tyres , servicing and repairs.
i've a mot bay too, but will be january before its up to date and approved.
i will still be using p+t autos for mots for the time being, i will also keep flubber dubbers at £35 and free retest even when my own test bay is ready.
As the economy is still very weak i'm asking everyone to recomend us and use us, because if you don't i doubt i'll be able to remain open for long as my funds are already over streched.
please spread the word!!! were on the main helston to hayle road, overlooking the hayle by-pass. i can also offer secure boat, caravan and motor storage at very reasonable rates.

thank you all
dave ;D

That will be the old Slow Fit Garage just down from the Maize Maze and just up from the Paradise Park turning.
Hope it goes well Dave.
See ya soon for a Passat and Beetle MOT.

That's good news Dave. If you have any business cards, I'll keep some on me and can pass them out to any customers I deal with if that helps :)

Well done mate, we'll have some business for you soon ;)
